Partners in Flight (PIF) is involved in many aspects of landbird conservation—from science, research, planning, and policy development to land management, monitoring and education.
As a network of more than 150 partner organizations distributed throughout the Western Hemisphere, PIF has the mission to keep common birds common and help species at risk through voluntary partnerships.
In Canada, the British Columbia Working Group of Partners in Flight is focusing efforts on threatened habitats such as grasslands, riparian habitats and low elevation mature forests. Partners work to reduce landbird mortality, fill gaps in monitoring, and address questions about habitat availability and migratory connectivity.
With the support of the Bird Conservancy of the Rockies, PIF recently expanded its Species Assessment tool to encompass all birds of North America, not just landbirds. Access the expanded Avian Conservation Assessment Database.
